how much do you think tappets would be or cam follwers is the other word form them including fitting ?

Depends on the engine, i'd say check on ebay 1st as theres normally people selling them on there.

Easy to change on the 16v engines... rocker cover off & cams out, then pull each tappet out with a sucker or a magnet. Just make sure the camshaft bearing caps go back on in exactly the same pattern (and way round) they came off

Might need to soak the new ones in oil for a little while to purge them b4 u fit them but i might be wrong on that part

Its a very easy job for DIY tbh m8.... i'd only take it to a garage as a last resort. credit crunch n all

good set of lifters: £120-140

fitting and re-timing: £80-100 max.
