just passed my test this morning but the best quote i can get is £1700 from churchill, for a corsa montana 1.2 1995 non modified. iam 18 got no no claims and live in glasgow. anyone got any ideas who to try get a cheaper quote from? any companies to avoid ? thanks

My first quote was 1200 from direct line, you could give them a go. This was on a 1.2 Breeze (8v)

they just quoted me £1860.60 fully comp with £400 excess, think thats goin to be about the average

just get third party fire and theft.
itll be cheaper and if you do need to claim the car is probably going to be valued at less than the excess anyway

im 19 with 3 points and a ban with no no claims been driving 18 months i pay 600fully comp with someone off money supermarket(details downstairs and canny be arsed to get em)
i found it cheaper if i put both my parents on my policy

i got qouted bout same on same car
my insurance now on corsa 1.4 with mods declared is £550 a year, bargain haha
my old dear being main driver of course thou and me 20years young with 2yrs experience and 0 no claims

that is on a 1.2 merit though.... its with prudential, i think they are called,
i put my parents down as named drivers brought my policy down 400 quid

for some reason 3rd party is dearer got a quote of £360 for my mum being the main driver and me as a named fully comp, £400 excess. think a might just go ahead with that.

i'm 19 been driving 19months and i'm 960 fully comp on a 1.4 16v sri, declairing alloys, exhaust suspension tints etcetc
