As titled please.
No specific requirements really...obviously a bit of space on it and up to date so it can do mpeg movies etc.
Cheers

I have a Creative Zen Vision:M.
That actual model is a good 4 years old now - it's big, chunky, will do any videos (not just .m4a) and hasn't broken yet - although I don't use it every day.
I'd recommend anything Creative in your price range tbh.

Don't remember writing a price range mate
Just want something that's better than an iPod. Would prefer similar dimensions rather than carrying a brick around tho, no matter how robust it may be.

That is the most expensive on play - they're cheaper for less GB's.

I've got a Zen too. They must have brought out a replacement for it now. I'd say go have a look at that. In some ways I find it a lot better than an iPod, but in others it kinda sucks

Zen Vision:M? Or just a plain old Zen? iirc the Zen doesn't do video.
The one I posted from Play.com looks much nicer than an iPod imho.

Zen Vision:M. I've even buried it in snow, got it soaking wet and all sorts. Frickin' bomb proof!

Won't be disappointed.
Although it is bit of a brick which goes against what you want, you can pick up Zen Vision:M's silly cheap now.

Can you drag and drop folders onto it? UNLIKE an iPod?

This is for the Zen Vision:M, I'm not sure about newer models.
You can drag and drop using it like mass storage.
You can sync with Windows Media Player and transfer via Windows Media Player.
You get a Creative File Manager which is also good.
Basically, the bare minimum you need to install for the Zen Vision:M is the driver.
I can't see Creative removing the feature of being able to drag & drop, use any video format etc as that is what makes them appealing over iPods.

ipod + winamp = drag drop music
as for video, again, drag drop video via Winamp and it automatically transcode and transfers it to the ipod.
You don't HAVE to use iTunes with an iPod.......

For the price, looks, user interface, ease of use, features you will 'not' find 'better' than an iPod IMO

What's wrong with Winamp? Shit load simpler to use that iTunes and Windows Media player.
If draging & droping to winamp, right mouse clicking - send to ipod is too difficult , then there are plenty of small apps (like vPod) that will do a similar thing.
Plus Creative aren't exactly best known for quality in their products, certainly not audio quality with them over exaggerating the specs of majority of their stuff. Atleast with the iPod you know what you're getting, although i agree sound quality isn't the best but certainly a lot better than any creative zen i've listened to (using a set of Beyers not some cheapy headphones).
If you can find an old iRiver, then i would get one of them, probably one of the best sounding protable devices going - plays flac and has a decent DtoA

I think the interface is geeky. Why don't they just do one which is Vista glass or XP chrome.
