Car has failed emisions test due to the revs hunting at fast idle.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
Engine is an x16xe
Could do with an answer soon as possible so i can get the damn thing on the road.

Saw it outside mot place on way work.its not been run for a while either which dont help. Idle normally start with icv, tps etc

Idle control valve would be a start.

Normal idle is fine just when trying to keep rpm at 2k.

Do it have an induction kit on ?
If so remove and fit standard airbox for MOT and try to clean TB and TPS and try that.

Atm its got an open cone on a pipe that sits the filter down behind the bumper.
Its throwing the eml so suggests its a sensor down.

Going to just get the damn thing plugged in i think, can see exactly what its doing then.

if the lights on then your best just getting it plugged in and then you can go from there
