Just upgrading the brakes on my brothers car for him for MOT time next week as his are shagged.

Putting Rear discs on, and Larger front brakes - Would a bigger master Cylinder benefit me, ie that from a Vectra / Cavalier to go with the front brakes?

Are they even bigger?

Also, Do i need the whole black Drum bit, or just the silver bit that all 4 Brake lines go into that bolts to the Drum bit if that makes sense?

ie do i just need this bit:

OR all of this:

EDIT: Also, Does it matter if the car i take it from has ABS or not? - My car doesn't atm!

Ok so i won't change the master cylinder.

V6 Brakes are bigger and better obviously - How much is cheap 284mm Discs though? Assuming the V6 Calipers are 284mm...

Very interested but need the stuff by the weekend - Mummys paying

95quid.

v6 calipers come in 2 types.

for 288mm discs or 284mm dicscs

the 284mm ones work best, can get 4 stud discs new for them 95quid the pair

That discs and pads for £95?

Would any 284mm 4 Stud Vented Disc work?
How would I know what calipers I get, 284 or 288, or does it not matter?

Cheers

Stick with the 2.0 brakes as you'll have a much better pedal feel than you will on the V6 jobbies.

2.0 brakes will be more then fine for a 1.2

Though in saying that would the MC be recommended for the V6 Brakes - To improve pedal Feel etc?

if you go with V6 brakes they have longer pistons in the calipers so you get pedal travel.

It's fine once your used to it and Braided Hoses \ Pressure Bleeding the system does help.

Will feel like you have no brakes until half way down the pedal then they kick in and they're awesome.

MS would improve the pedal feel on the V6 brakes but can you get it to fit in the Bay?

I don't know whether or not you need the big black bit or just the actual MS bit where the hoses go, as per first post in this thread...
