i think my clutch has either slipped or is on its way out becuase the biting point is now fully at the floor meaning i cant fully put the clutch in to change gear making it incredibly difficult to drive.
how much wil a clutch possibly be and any other parts relating to it such as the cable?
or how much is it to have the clutch replaced completely including labour?
thanks
Paul

probably just needs adjusted
if the clutch had gone then you would feel it slipping

just adjust it, if it was going the when you change gear you would notice the revs go up but the car not getting any quicker. 100 quid for a clutch my arse, they are about 40 quid.

Have a look under the bonnet, look to the right hand side where the ECU sits, there is an arm there with a metal wire coming out of it, on the arm there is a nut, tighten the nut as much as you can, this will tension the cable up.
I had a problem like you say a while ago, turned out the clutch cable had just spun free because the washer had eroded, so gave it a spin, put a new nylon threaded nut on and hay presto its fine again.

If the clutch was slipping would that be accompanied by any noise ?
Or would the revs just rise, and the car not really pull. ?

Put the car in a high gear whilst going up a hill, so that it struggles. If it is slipping then the revs will rise but the speed wont.
I bought a new clutch kit for 1.6 16v for £60
