I'd guess alarm bonnet switch wiring.
What colour are the wires?

That's what I used when installing my Toad alarm instead of one of them universal jobbies.
I had to get the bracket and plunger from a scrap yard as my car didn' have one.

Given how the rest of the alarm was installed it wouldnt surprise me

But does it work for the aftermarket alarm or the vauxhall standard alarm installed?

It's supposed to be for the Vauxhall alarm but you can wire up your Toad to it. The one wire from the Toad goes to either wire on the plunger and earth the other wire from the plunger.

its for the standard vauxhall alarm, try closing the bonnet over and locking the doors and then open the bonnet after a few mins and it should go off
