Hi,
How the Hell do the Driveshafts come out of the box on a X16XE Gearbox (F15?)
I have tried pulling them,Bashing them,Twisting them Etc Etc....The D/S One is out of the Hub and moves ever so slightly but the P/S One wont move at all.It is totally stuck in the Hub.
I have spent ALL day Removing Half of the Engine (Block & Trying to remove G/Box) As almost all of the Bolts where Rusty & Corroded,Rounded off,Snapping Etc and im really pissed of
Im on a tight timescale to get a new Engine in and up and running sweet and this has really put me behind
If anyone could Help it would be much Appreciated.Rant over.........
Thanks
Craig

Once the hub nut as been removed you should be able to drift the outer CV from the hub. Put some penetraing fluid on it and it may go down the splines. Be careful not to damage the thread as if you do, then you will not be able to re-use the CV joint as you can not get the nut started.
The gearbox CV joint is held in by a circlip and you will probably need to lever them out. Get a crow bar or something similar and wedge it between the CV and the gearbox casing. Gently lever it out as you dont want to damage the oil seal. Be ready for the gearbox oil to leak out once the shaft is removed.
Good luck

slacken king nut on end of shaft. loosely put back on few threads by hand. undo ball joint so hub moves seperate to bottom arm. pull whole hub assembly towards you sharply, should pull them out the box.

Well i have tried removing the Hub and pulling it towards but to no Joy.
I Have already fucked the P/S CV Joint by trying to Hammer it out so im not really that arsed now i just want them out.
I didnt relise there was a Circlip holding the Shaft in at the box end so i will have a look at that tonight
If i can just get 1 out then i will be able to move the G/Box out the Car then even if it has 1 Shaft still attached.

You're just not strong enough.
A quick sharp tug pulls them straight out.
Keep trying.

Don't you have to shock them out?
When i removed my shafts from an f20 box, i pushed in on the shaft & then pulled towards me quickly & the shaft was out.
