I've been reading reviews on both. The Intel seems to be popular, but the AMD is a bit cheaper and has a higher clock speed standard...

I've not read anything recently suggesting AMD have caught up yet but have read that i7 is an amazing processor, I wouldn't even have to think about it.

That's strange/amazing. Within the past 30 mins or less the price on the AMD has gone up by £40, this makes the Intel a bit more appealing because they are now so similarly priced...

i7 runs circles around the x4.
Why are you buying an i7 when they're so expensive at the minute?
