Having changed our garden last year from a jungle into what you see below I want to go a bit further now and give it a more ''Matured(?)'' look. The only difference from the final picture below is that it is now fully turfed. I want it to remain fairly low maintanence.

What would you do? Pics of yours or ideas welcome.

Although you have the area near the house for entertaining on( if you do that) you could also have a decked area somewhere up at the top, maybe box it in with high plants, bamboo etc and have some chairs, mood lighting, BBQ. That sort of thing.

Concrete it all, job done.

TBH just create massive boarders with shrubs and stuff in that wont take much looking after.

Basically the same as I was going to suggest.
A decked area up in the left hand corner with a table chairs etc

Such a large space.

COUGH TWO ponds....

One in one corner, slightly raised, brickwork it in..

2nd dug into the gound in the other corner.

Some slate

Some plastic

A little stream/river

Pump/filter

Happy days, watch the wildlife flock in and enjoy a bath in front of you Love it. Got a local blackbird family now, and a shedloads of sparrows..

BB are fine with the sparrows, but if the doves, pigdeons, gulls, and anything else comes by, they go mental n chase.

BUT

It does require a fair bit to keep it working well Well worth it though.

Get an african pot house. I want one for my new digs

Other than that some fancy big pots with nice plants (no granny flowers!) and some nice stones / rocks and maybe a bbq area.

The African Pot House, a brand new innovation, Standing 3m to 3.5m in height and 2.5m wide, the African Pot House is truly something special. Made from the strongest light weight re-enforced stone - "Fibrostone™", the African Pot House weighs Approx 300kg.
The African pot house can comfortably seat 6 people either as a reclucive seating area or around a table. But that's not all, the table can be resessed into the bench, making one big flat bed 2.5m round, ideal for just 'chillin.

The African Pot House has a tented ceiling, rustic matching cushions and curtains and a suspended candelabra that makes it a fantastic evening recluce. Pot Houses are made individually to order so window positions can be altered to suit your tastes

How cool would that be sitting in the back yard, I'll bet none of the neighbours have one either!!
