Mad how when i come across a computer issue the first place i come is a car forum
Anyway, we have purchased two lots of Crucial Value RAM for a server. First 2GB stick went back to Crucial as we put it down as being faulty. We now have a replacement but also appears to be faulty. However, bit skeptible about whether it is faulty or not..
Put this 2GB chip on a Dell PowerEdge T410 server. Server will not boot, does not beep or anything, just a black screen. Same thing happens when dumped in a PC.. Even removed all other chips to be sure.
Could this be a second faulty chip or is there something in the BIOS to the needs changing for this RAM to work?
Maybe this is a dodgy family batch..

As it doesnt work in another computer also i would suggest that the ram is faulty. Ive never had to change anything in the BIOS to use new ram.
Unless maybe its DDR2 ram and your server AND computer dont support it. Dont know how feasible that is though lol
P.S. I also come straight to CS for computer issues.
