Ok so my mate had a fez zetec s 1.6 and I had a race with him in my 1.4 corsa and he couldn't get away ha ha wich I was pleased with as I had a passenger as well and he didn't so he sold his zs and bought a type r and now well I can't touch him I plan to put a redtop in my corsa a standard 150 bhp engine with an f20 box will I keep up with him or beat him ? His is pretty much standard hope this doesn't sound stupid

depends how good at driving he is, if its the model before the new one don't rate them at all, look gay and as for the vtec who really gives a shit.
saw an older civic type r (1.6) rinse one of the newer ones out by miles pulled away in first and second

It's a 51 reg type r on 92k in 1st if he takes it to vtec when he changes to 2nd he can't put the power down lol so would mine and his be pretty equal?

If you beat him in a 1.4 corsa vs a 1.6 zetec s then he cant drive for shit 
The type R runs 190bhp but is heavy so a 2l corsa should beat it on power to weight ratio but the type R's can handle 100 times better than a corsa so depends if your driving through the twisties

Ha ha I though my corsa was fast lol I've got mine on coilovers ATM with some crap tyres on so it handles better than when it was on standard shocks and springs but my mates ka can go round corners better than mine and his is standard :s I think I need some bushes and some strut braces hopefully I will neat h when I do the conversion if not i'll put some proper cams on it

Agreed. Both cars weigh about the same and the Fiesta has around 30bhp more so should beat the Corsa.

I know they are nippy as ive raced a few and won but can definitely say they would eat a 1.4 corsa though.
Corsas will always be awful at handling.

ive seen off a zetec s in my stripped 1.4 sport in the past, not alot in it but was still pulling away. im getting redtop fitted at the min and fairly confident it will stick with type r's when done

I looked on a couple of sites and they said 120bhp. Guess they be wrong then.

I've got to admit my mate has one and it's fair nippy it stays in front of me but doesn't get away I think my 1.4s a bit faster than it shoul be though because I kept up with my mates polo gti 2000 reg up to about 110 then he left me but I was close but statisticly the zetec s should win every time but the 1.6 corsa should paste it
