Been trying to grow some of my own veg, started the seeds off in a propogator.
these are the runner beans so far:
not sure whats up with this one
brocolli
not sure if i have a problem with the dwarf french beans though, as the ends look all brown, anyone know?

this is the propogator im using, am i best leaving the vents open all the time as it seems to be steamed up all of the time? the seeds have been in 16 days so far and only had 5 out of 40 sprout?

I wouldn't mind growing some veg 
Want to try an apple, pear or tomato from seed too

Is the propogator heated and what is in it?
If it is something like chillis or peppers they can take around a month to germinate. Also, are you using generic soil or seedling compost?

so far brocolli, dwarf french beans and runner beans, the propogator isn't heated, im using it indoors on a windowsill which gets the sun all day, using seed compost and the small cell trays

Never grown any of those so I'm not much help there I am afraid.
You could maybe try soaking seeds in a bowl of room-temperature water overnight, then pop them on moist blotting paper in a dark sealed box to prompt them into action?

I made my own veg patch out the back when I was unemployed, everything was thriving....then I got a job
Carrots were the only thing that survived as you just leave them to their own devices under the soil, taste delicious.

Ive currently got Lettuce, Raddish, Spring Onions, King Eddies and Carrots in down at the allotment, the Raddish Lettuce and Spuds are growing really well, the other 2 arnt doing much yet, I dont have green fingers
Im much better at growing eggs

just started a fresh batch, not gonna water as much this time as they seemed a bit soggy when i dug them up, think that was the problem

The seeds need humid enviroment to germinate, if you do leave the vents open the make sure the soil dont dry out too much.
The evaporation will self regulated as the drops can only be a certain size so as the drop collects more water it will eventually break the suface tension on drop back on the soil.
Peat pockets are a nice option.

Leave to soak a day before sowing, then one seed per pocket.
easy to repot on, as peat is an ideal growing medium for gemination.
