selling my external hard drive with my media player and wanna keep 500gb worth of films thats on it, only got 100gb space on the laptop. Is there anywhere online I could upload it to? then download it when I get my new pc?

Could try http://www.backblaze.com/UK-backup.html, really cheap and unlimited storage. Although it'll take you a good week solid (obviously this depends on your upload speed, but at 256kb it'll take you around 80-90 hours) to upload the lot.
As SSJ said, best solution is to buy another external drive.

I naffed the maths up in the last one, for 500GB on ADSL (which is 1Mbps, or 1.3Mbps on ADSL2+) it'd take roughly 55days solid

need the money from media player and hard drive to buy pc, i can spare 50 buks from that to buy another hard drive. will be handy to have to back up pictures and stuff anyway.

only got the laptop mate, didnt think about that tho could have just bought my hard drive for pc and stuck it in a caddy! doh!
mine try and fob the external one off to my mum for crimbo anyway tho
