hi just wondering what an engine with these mods would produce if using a mantzel inlet not the throttle bodies on it originally. would have to also add an exhaust manifold i think

how much would that sort of spec engine cost to build or anyone got similar and how much did they cost? Seen a few for sale

my c16xe has cost about £3k but i get cams, bearings etc at cost so prob 4k or so.
ive got rods, omega pistons, acl bearings, all balanced crank, lightened gte flywheel, helix clutch, ported head, custom 280dur newman cams, piper verniers, modified plastic pullies, catcams 'gold' race springs, modified spring platforms, steel caps and r1 carbs, but reckion 4k or so

how much power do you get with that? And any reason you used r1 carbs and not throttle bodies as you seem to be serious about the engine?

because the r1 carbs and mani were only £200 and not £2k that a tb set up would cost new. and tbh except for maybe abit more drivability at lower revs with tbs the r1 carbs would pretty much give the same peak power. and no idea on power, wank relief jammed and blued 3 rods so when ive got time ill rebuild it but it should be in region of 190bhp or so tbh. ive got 8 or 9 engines im building at the moment + my normal job too so bit busy
+ i did have an all steel tbd 20xe that i sold last week as im buying an evo, that id spent 5k or so on so i didnt want to spend mega mega on the 1600
