started car up this am, car idleing rough even'd itself out then lot of white smoke whilst revving it. stopped the car looked under the bonnet header tank was empty and there was white residue in the oil on the dipstick but nothing at the top end

Sounds like it mate, if it's just gone the water might take a while to reach the top of the engine

thanks alan i will strip it down or i might just tak it to a garage cause i cannot be fucked to do it

Well I'd do a couple more tests just to make 100% if you can before stripping it but that's probably your problem anyway
