I keep getting a problem when watching videos on various site, youtube, ITV, porn, etc, where audio is fine but the video isn't. usually a very pixlelated green screen, then flickers of the actual video
WTF is wrong?

Right-click on the video, and choose Settings I think it is.
The first option that comes up should say something like "enable hardware acceleration", un-tick that, close the box + the web browser and start it up again, you shouldn't have the problem again (I had this and this is what I had to do to sort it).
