I get to upgrade on Monday and looking at what phones are available, it seems the only actual upgrades at the HTC Sensation, Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Iphone 4S from my HTC Desire and the Iphone isn't much of a step up!

So it phone tech hitting a ceiling/plateau? Usually after 18months there is loads of options, but all the other HTC's use the same processor as my Desire, camera is no better, etc

Everything is better than the desire, not sure what you are looking at.

As far as actual hardware and computing power goes the 4s is at least twice as fast, which is what you'd expect after 18 months.

All the ones you've mentioned use a dual core processor so I wouldn't exactly say things have levelled out just yet.

The sensation is old though now and so is the Samsung. Wait for the quad core phones next year with HD screens
