So is smartphone internet security really needed these days?
I bank with Barclays and so get free Kaspersky for 3 PCs and free mobile software. Everytime I use their banking app it tells me that I haven't got anything installed.
Is it worth it? I've never really seen the point but just wondered what opinions are on here?!

I think it will be required in years to come, maybe 5+ but not at the moment.
When more phones are using NFC etc, they may even have firewall apps etc.

People said that five years ago...
The way things work today developers are pretty quick to close any holes as soon as they are discovered and exploited.
I haven't used any dedicated security software for nearly six years.

If the exploits aren't already sold off that is.

Pretty much!
If you install apps then check the reviews before you do, its quite scary how much information apps want when you install them.

I know apps on iTunes are vetted heavily. Are Google Play/Android apps not so much?
