Bought this last year, its a 3 storey, end terrace which has been converted into two one bedroom flats; Both tenants moved out just before Christmas so being empty, we've decided to gut it and rectify the bodges made by the previous owner, tenants and just generally improve the look of it.

Starting with the attic bedroom; no before pics that I know of, unless she's got some on her laptop but this is where we were up to last night

Plaster had blown slightly on the gable end wall so we've ripped it off, planning to replaster but quite like it bare brick and less future maintenance - needs some pointing repairs and sealing but thats it.

Bare brick looks good, like that a lot!

Are you doing the same both ends or just one?

Bare brick looks nice. Point it etc then seal it. With out sealing it, it's can get a bit dusty. Plus looks nicer imo with a slight gloss to it.

Yeah, want a slight gloss but not too plasticy and fake looking. We've pretty much stripped the floorboards now-I'll post progress pics tomorrow

Spent a couple of nights bringing the boards up; still got a bit more to do yet before sealing them but should look reasonably good when finished and most importantly mean hardly any future maintenance

Managed to refit the existing kitchen units to accomodate a washing machine; just need to get a cupboard for the fridge as she hadn't realised it was a built in one when she ordered it!!

Fitted new doors and kitchen worktop this morning

and Bathroom is almost finished; tiles were the existing tiles and whilst they could have been trimmed a bit neater in palces, it doesn't make sense to rip them all out so I've fitted a top trim to neaten up the edge and I'm regrouting and sealing the shower and we've fitted the new sink, toilet and a towel rail. Also made a new door for the airing cupboard as the combi for this flat has now been fitted in there.

Its never going to be a palace or anything as its a 1 bedroom rental in a small town but without spending a fortune, we want it to stand out from the competition - looks like its worked as we've got 4 people lined up to see it on February 01st
