I'm looking at changing from a wireless setup on my xbox (newish black slim) to ethernet now by doing so I either need to run around 5m ethernet cable or run a 5m bt extension cable.
Any idea on what way would be better by not disturbing the internet speed ect.

It's best to keep the router as close to the wall socket as possible so run an Ethernet cable from that to the Xbox.

Yep, router should go on the BT master socket for best internet speeds.

should be fine, the pre-terminated ones seem to be okay in my own experience. They've been ordinary round cable though, not the flat ones.
I'd say i would make you one but i probably couldn't make and send you one for £3.49

Ideally i would like the flat style above so i can squeeze them down the side of our skirting boards to hide them
Will order two up tonight.

yeah, i wondered if that was the reason depending on carpets etc you can sometimes get away with hiding the round ones along the carpet stay spiky thing strips and putting the carpet back over them but not always.
