Hi guys and gals,
I think my head gasket on my x14xe is on it's way out, as yesterday I got the bubbling/gurgling water sound from behind the dashboard... And given I have been loosing coolant a couple of times, I assume it's the head gasket on it's way out. I haven't had the chance to test compression yet, as I can't find my tester. But that's the next step.
I'm thinking of changing the head gasket to a Cometic, but I find 2 sizes, 80mm and 82mm, are the 80mm for the 1,4, and the 82mm for the 1,6?
Also thinking that if I have to change the gasket, I'm tempted to change the head to an X16XEL or a C16XE, as I seem to have read they have a little better flow.
So if going for one of the 16xe's then it's the 82mm, right?
Last problem is the thickness of the head gasket, standard is 1,3mm/0.051" right?
And if I get the head skimmed let's say 0.2mm I reckon I will have to get the gasket in 0.2mm thicker right?
Cheers

Engine is bog standard, besides a drilled airbox, with K&N filter, Lexmaul inlet, remus rear and middle silencer. Nothing fancy.
