my steering shakes quite bad when i get up to about 50 mph ive had the balancing done so what else could be causing it

buckled tyre/wheel (allthou should of been picked up when ballanced) , warped disc, tracking, bearing, CV, drive-shaft...
many many things!

Get the tracking check first then it's likely to be CV's or shafts after that, although could also be bottom ball joint, tie bar bush, tie rod end.
