Just finished putting a x16xe engine into my 1400 8v sri corsa, came to start it and nothing! put the ignition on and the ecu light starts flashing and nothing happens when i try to turn it over. Ive plugged the fault finder thing into it to try to see whats wrong and it comes up with code 12 which apparently means thers no faults!
I have a random wire coming off the starter motor which i assumed was something to do with the alarm on the car the engine came out of, should i have plugged this into something???
cheers for any help guys

It to do with the ECU and the Chip you have in your Key.
In the ignition barrel there is a small transponder that is linked to the ecu, which linked to the chip in you key.
You'll need to get the Transponder thing out of the other car and put it in yours.
I think vauxhall might be able to re-program the ecu to link with your key.
I could be wrong but this happened with my conversion.
The guy that done it got it workin somehow, think he changed the loom.

if the ecu light is flashing its more than likely the chip. did you replace the thing on ignition barrel and chip in car from the car you got the engine from?

is there anyway of by passing this immobiliser as i havnt got a chip on my car so fitting this one from the gsi would mean having to wire it into my loom which i would rather not do!

theres no way of bypassing the immob
you need the immob ring and chip that goes in the key that matches the ecu
"car the ecu came out of" will have a chip and immob ring
you need those
