Anyone ever use this stuff you put in your fuel tank to clean the cars injectors? I'm considering using this stuff for my 03 reg corsa sxi as i just found out the other day that i only got 260miles from a full tank which is pretty shite!

yeah i have used it before, numerous times tbh.

good stuff. does pretty much what it says on the tin!

dunno how it would effect your fuel econ. maybe try taking your foot of the right hand pedal?

supposedly there's only a few of them that actually contain an active ingredient.

i'd tried one previouysly which did nothing, before being recommended complete fuel system cleaner by stp.

chucked in a bottle of this and it seemed to do the trick.
ran nicer, idled a lot cleaner etc.

£12 a bottle though.

Your injectors shouldn't need cleaning on an 03 reg!

might get some of that STP stuff for mine, but tbh not sure if it will do anything...

been running optimax since the day I bought the car & the plugs are spotless, so 'guessing' the engine should be nice & clean

takes 60secs to buy and use a bottle of cleaner.
jobs a bit bigger if your taking the injectors out totally and sending them away for proper cleaning. plus there's the downtime while your engine is injectorless.

trust me it can

more air = more fuel

aftermarket backbox - relief of backpressure, can cause rise in mpg.

I used to get about 300-350mpg and now i get between 230 and 270.

Most places are about £15 each I think. I doubt many 'motorsport garages' can do it. I think lucas dealers can, or there is a guy on mig that does them for about £30 if you send them to him.

Do you really think a back box and drilled air box makes that much difference to the air flow/power/fuel consumption!

Richie, you must have about 25% more power now then

What sort of consumption are you getting? How are you driving it and where are you driving it? It will be down to driving style...
