am i rite in thinking its the bottom ends that are the same on these engines or is it the head?

heads have slightly different port sizes
blocks will have different size bores

i did wonder why i had a 1.4 head that said x16xel stamped on it, the pulleys had 16xe stamped on them too

The crank is different too i belive the X14XE has a different stroke

Head is same, pistons and crank are different.
oh and the headgasket too.

wasnt ma timing belt that snapped.................
