A.mate.is.having.trouble.with.his.corsa,.high.revs.at.idle,.hanging.revs.between
gear.changes,.first.thing.i.thought.of.is.the.ICV.

Now.i've.only.cleaned.an.ICV.on.a.2L.redtop.engine,.the.ICV.was.under.the
throttle.body,.easy.to.get.out,.washed.it.in.brake.cleaner.and.ran.a.current
through.to.open.and.close.the.valve.and.get.all.the.sh1t.out.of.it.

Can.anyone.tell.me.where.the.ICV.is.on.the.1Litre.corsa.engine,.how.difficult
to.get.out.and.is.it.the.same.method.for.cleaning?

Any.nasty.suprises.lurking.for.me.when.I.attempt.this?

I.WOULD.ASSUME.IT.WOULD.BE.BY.THE.THROTTLE.BODIE.

IT.DEPENDS.HOW.EASY.YOU.HAVE.ACCESS.TO.THE.THROTTLE.BODY.DEPENDS.ON.HOW.EASY.IT.WOULD.BE.TO.TAKE.IT.OFF,ON.THE.1.4.16V.ENGINES.THEY.ARE.A.BIT.FIDDLY,ESPECIALLY.PUTTING.THEM.BACK.IN.WHEN.YOU.HAVE.LOST.THE.BOLTS

YOU.CAN.CLEAN.IT.WITH.DE-COKE/CARB CLEANER.OR.BUY.A.NEW.ONE.

ive just fixed my caps lock button, and i think we should stop taking the piss just because.he.has.a.broken.keyboard.

I believe it's to the left of the throttle cable, and is a stepper motor.

yea, i think they are either T20,T15,or T25 torx screws i think, but i dropped them a few times and they land ontop of the starter motor! this is on the 1.4 16v though, so its possibly different on the 1.0 12v

Okay,.after.first.locating.the.ICV.and.taking.it.off,.the.damn.thing.is.a.sealed
unit.with.a.small.bar/spring.mechanism.which.pushes.directly.on.the.throttle
cable.pulley!
So,.a.completely.different.design.to.the.20XE.one,.nothing.to.open.up.and.
clean

Going.to.try.swapping.it.for.another.at.some.point.over.the.next.few.days
and.hope.that.sorts.it.
