iPods are far from the best. Check the Sony ones out for the fact thier batterys last forever. Creative Zens are good for the ammount of features they have for the price....

the sony players are far from the best either - for starters, you can only use sony's shite software (which is full of bugs) and secondly the music is copyrighted, so you cant transfer the music to a different system. Plus i believe that you cant use them as a HD like an ipod etc
Only good thing about the sony's is the battery time - but personally that is outweighted by the other factors

For ease of use nothing touches the iPod imo. However i am liking the new Sony HD Walkman and I've also heard good things about the Rio Karma

I have the sony VAIO 40GB MP3 player and i think is really good; nice and easy to use and can be used as an external HD. Also you can transfer pictures from camera straight to it without the need of a PC which was ideal for me when i was traveling. Selling mine tho as im skint and cant see myself using an MP3 player now im back

My Sony MP3 player works just as an external hard drive. You can use the software Sony provides, but I don't see the point. You plug it into the docking station, open Explorer and drag and drop MP3's into. You can transfer them using the software so it converts the music to ATRAC which means you can fit more music onto it. You can also use it to store files too - I use it for photos when I go away on holiday... There are no issues with copyrighted music, apart from if the music is a protected WMA file, which is mostly Microsoft's fault.

I have an Archos AV440. 40gb and can be used as an external hard disk. No fancy software, just plug it in and away you go. Plays musics, stores photos, can record straight from a DVD player onto it and plays other DivX movies.

Creative Zen Micro's have a radio, cool flashy blue light and are cheaper than iPods. Pluse maybe less chance of getting them stolen!
