The corsa currently running a 1.4 8v LS lump, it's automatic by the way.
Wanting to put a x14xe lump in (1.4 16v) (going v.cheap off a mate), how much work would be involved? The guy is including these with the deal:-

engine and gearbox
2 ecu's
key and transponder
2 alternators
manifolds
2ltr discs and calipers
leads
new oil filter
2 tins of gearbox oil
brand new clutch (still in its bag)
New thrust bearing
startermotor

Let me know how much work would be involved and what would need to be changed over and would it work with the AT box, cheers.

Just wondering can the 1996 LS auto box run a x14xe lump and would the conversion work with the bits listed above or would other work need to be done

you'll get a lot better performance from the manual box, and it'll be alot more fun to drive as the x14xe's love to rev! have you only got an automatic licence?

the corsa has to stay automatic due to its a shared car and the other user only has an automatic license so unfortunately the manual factor is not an issue. I am feeling the manual comments though ;o) but its not a possibility. Have tried persuading the shared user to commit and get a bloody manual license, but she's petrified of gears..

ok, i see the problem, you could offer to teach her yourself how to use a manual gearbox..

The thing is i doubt you'll notice much if any difference in performance, due to the lack of torque from a x14xe, they really need to be revved and an auto box would change too early.
