Are you making the pods from scratch or adapting the current door cards?
To be honest tho, why do you want 6x9s in your door cards? Id just go for a sub in the boot and some good comps up front. No hassle to fit and will probably (depending on quality) sound much better.

Depending on the size & weight of the pod, it may need screwing to the door...
As for the speakers, like others have said... screw them in like you would anything else.

Well i havent started making them yet, i looked at the tutorial thing but it doesnt say about screwing anything in. I got sony door speakers in the front of my corsa c at the mo, and ive got two mtx subs in the boot with a "magnet" AMP. I kinda want more sound tho. So im guessing it would be a bad idea to put 6x9's in the front? I was just thinking they'd be better for sound quality. Do you think i should put another two standard door speakers in rather than 6x9's? I need opinions!! I will be mounting on top of a doorcard already, but what im confused about is how they stay in the door, but if i screw them in i'll be screwing in through filler wont I? Your probably thinking im a retard, but if you dont ask you'll never know! Please reply asap! or add me to msn john_danger_wood@hotmail.com. Cheers

John, its not surprising that you're seeking better sound quality if you're running Sony speakers. I'd suggest, rather than having to make door builds to fit 6x9's up front, save up a bit more money & by yourself a quality component set i.e. Diamond audio/Focal etc.. Take a ride out to a few car audio retailers (not halfrauds though) & ask to listen to a few different makes, preferably in a demo car, rather than a stand. This way, you can get a feel for the kind of sound you prefer. Don't forget to take some of your own music to listen to... its no good buying a set of speakers that play classical music well, if you only listen to drum & bass!
IF you still choose to make a set of boor builds. you will find, that the speakers screw into the wooden speaker ring, that is used to create the build.

So if i get new speakers at the front, do you think its worth keeping the old ones and then having 2 speakers per door? and if i do ever decide to create my own door pod will i still the speaker mount i had to buy?

Do you mean keep the 6x9's?
If it were me, I'd sell the 6x9's & use the money to buy some dynamat & wiring.

exactly, get a set of components, Focals new Access line are fantastic and not too expensive.
6.5" comps should go straight into a corsa C front door as far as i know, then bin your standard front speakers.
DONT use the standards aswell.

I dont have standard speakers in the front. I have Sony XSA1327 speakers. And i needed to buy a speaker adaptor to get them to fit.

Don't use them either then... If you're fitting a set of quality components, bin the Sony's.

I've always liked the sound of JL stuff & Diamond Audio.. but you'd be better having a listen to them yourself & deciding - you may find you don't like the sound of em.
