hi,
having looked at a few corsa's with throttle bodies, i've noticed that they have a different distributor set up than what mine has. this is a pic of mine:

you can see the orangey coloured distributor cap. can this be used when running throttle bodies?
this is a pic of Matts and his has some funny box to the right near the battery and a different distributor.

So will i need to change mine to the same as what his and others i have seen have when i put my tb's on?
would buying this be the same as what Matts has or is different too?

Sorry for all the questions Just seem so many types of distributor.
Thanks, Jay

how does that work? i dont think i'll go that route tbh, sounds a bit complicated for me to do myself.
Would it not be easier to just get a dizzless system like on some xe's and fit that?

the ecu wiring loom makes it easy, just get the plug of the new dizzy and go from there.... look at sbd site see what they sell....
i went for the st170 on as its unamped which the ecu liked better than my standard dis pack

i wouldn't know where to start if i was going to start using bits off of other cars
Do you know if buying the vauxhall dizzyless ignition with wiring loom etc and fitting it to my engine would work? and is it an easy thing to change? better to buy a dizzless engine in the first place?

sometimes they like the unamped dis packs, using a ford one is easy the ht leads fit just needs 2 wires joining to the management loom.... job done!

only 4 wires. easy to chop the plug off and re-wire. need to find out if its the ecu needs to run with an amplified or non-amplified coil pack. ring sbd.

right, i've recieved my tb's now. so still a few things to clear up.
Do i need to still run the lambda sensor?
Can i not run them with the ignition system i have?
If i cant then what would be the best/easiest to use? (im not very clued up on all the electronics)
anything else i should know/do before fitting them?
Thanks, Jay.

you dont need to use lambda. depends on what management you buy. i have used mbe and omex. i love the omex system, so simple to use, well priced, exellent customer service as well. Andy at omex is a top lad and went out of his way to help me on many occasions. plus, the new ecu (omex 600) is even better.

It all depends on your ECU and loom... You probably wont be able to use your mechanical distributor because it's stupid old technology. Find out whats recomended by the manufacturer and find one at a breakers
As with the lambda, does your ECU need a lambda sensor for closed loop running?
