i know its in the wrong forum but i need a quick answer, i have a xp cd and when i put it in it says install> so i click on that and a warning pops up saying that this version i put in is older than the one on my comp> and i have to delete xp off before i can install this.
so how do i delete windows xp ? and then re format it? cheers

put cd in drive, restart computer and press enter wen it say boot from cd... if it goes str8 past this u will need to go into the BISO and make a cd drive a bootalbe device

BIOS wont do low-level formats on most modern boards, especially on SATA drives.`

Huh? You're only using the BIOS to allow the computer to boot the install CD from outside of Windows.

yup. not sure why paulw thought i/we were on about using the bios to format the drive

ok now when i turn my pc on it comes up a black screen saying "please choose what operating screen you want to start, and it comes up saying

so how do i delete one of the professional and the home?

Start... Run....
"notepad c:\boot.ini" without the ""
Delete the lines.
Save and Quit.

he did a quick format and it leaves some data on
