About a minute into starting my corsa (x16xe) , all i hear is tap tap tap tap tap

Sounds like an old fiesta

Is this probably tappets ?

How straightforward are they to replace ?

Is the oil pump puming? The lifters should last the same ammount of time as the engnie.

How do I find out about the oil pump ?

Oil is definetly getting to the head though

Try cleaning the gunk out of all the breather pipes too. Did you take the lifters out at all? Did you keep them submerged in oil at all times?

first off change ur oil and clean the pick up pipein your sump just to be sure. if it carrys on doin it you will have to take the head off and change them.they wont all be nakerd so next time u start it up get a screw driver put the tip of it on your rocker cover and your ear on the other end that will give you an idea wich 1s are nakerd.
