Been looking at tvs for my room to use with an xbox 360, looking at around 32" and around a 600 quid budget. Been looking at samsungs but someone pointed out this -
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50790688
would this be ok? Would leave me and extra 200 quid to spend on games / beer.

Someone has said LG do good packages with surround sound etc.
I just dont wanna be paying for the "looks" of the samsung to be honest if others are as good.

Fair enough. I paid for the good quality of the Samsung, not the looks.

like ive always said id drather spend £400 as opposed to £600 for essentially the same thing, my budget hd tv looks pretty much the same as my mates samsung, deffinetly nothing i can see that warrents and extra £200.
drather spend the saved money on games.
but a lot of people swear by samsung not sure if its the actual quality of the brand people pay for tbh.
im not saying the samsung isnt a better picture, but its very marginal to the point you would never notice unless looking really hard for a difference, certainly imo doesnt warrant the extra cash.

i dont know one second let me consult the future to find out.....
however, the 3 year warranty that comes with it should see me into quite a fair bit of the future, the fact they give a free 3 year warranty must meen they have some faith in there products.
And tbh ive worked in a few electrical retailers and i know first hand most of the returns we have come from name brands not the unbranded items.

So probably worth shelling out the extra dollar for the samsung?
What would people recommend for around 600 budget?

if you can stretch to 650 then you can a 32" samsung r74(the latest one) from www.beyondtelevision.co.uk
if 600 is your absolute max then look at some of the hitachi and toshiba models, from what i hear there higher end tvs are good.
getting a budget tv is abit of a gamble tbh, like john said there will be exceptions and if you planning on keeping this tv for ages (5+ years) then the extra bit of money spent on the tv will be worth it for piece of mind
