I'm 99% sure I need a new IACV because in the cold/rain and occasionally in normal driving conditions, when I pull up to junctions after long stints at continuous speed, the revs drop dangerously low. However the car idles fine on start up, and once the revs have picked up again.
Warren.g said he had a IACV lying around, but wasn't sure if it was a good'un or not, so sent it to me to try.
All fitted fine, started up and idled fine whilst I tidied the garage, then took the car for a spin. Up comes the EML, for about 4 seconds, then goes out. I thought may be it is just recognising the new IACV, so I kept going. Then it came on again, and a few more times. 4 seconds each time, and with no symptoms/dodgey revs..
Pulled up on my drive, it was fine so I thought may be the IACV will sort itself out.
THEN, when I was parking over the road (hadn't turned off car at this point) in the lay by, revs stuck at 1.5krpm and the EML was on. No matter how much I blipped the throttle, it wouldn't go out. And didn't go out until I pulled back up on the drive and turned the engine off.
Refitted my old one, and no EML thank god.
The dilemma I have is, the one Warren sent me is clearly a bit nackered. However, my current IAC valve isn't showing any EML, so is this what is causing my revs to drop?
And does anyone know of the price new from Vauxhall?

£55 from Vauxhall, phoned then 10 mins ago as it looks like I need one as well.
Do a search on the threads for ICV and loads of stuff comes up that might be of help.
I posted a similar question earlier today and did get much of a responce.

Interesting - don't want to spend £55 and it not be the IACV though

Could the symptoms of no EML but dropping revs when dipping the clutch and pulling up to a junction be the Crankshaft Sensor?

If the management light is coming on get it checked out at a garage. You will waste more money guessing what it is.

The EML isn't coming on though with my existing one. It just did with the one Warren sent me, so I binned it.

Mate I've got a pretty much brand new one that you can have for like £20..... it was fitted about a month before the engine was removed.
I can send it you to test first though if you are still unsure its the ICV.
Really need to get down there soon to sort out Haimsey's bloody air box too!

PS Crank sensors are also known to cause similar issues without throwing up an EML..... but I have a feeling the one on my old engine is twatted aswell.....
