Been reading the tutorial on that topbuzz site and the one on here in our tutorial section, tbh i think we could do with a new one with piks etc.

Basicly what i want to know is, if i bought a c20xe engine complete with gearbox, ecu loom, sfi air box.

And then got this - http://www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=756&cat=1620&page=1

Is that all i would need to do conversion, well minus the manifold / exhaust system.

Need as much info as possilbe ppl and if someone has some spare time on their hands could they make a new tutorial with piks etc as fitting the new drive shafts and cv joints sounds complicated to me and might be better with piks.

Cheers

you will need mounts, CV's and 22 spline shafts. As far as i know you use the standard 2.0 manifold but will need an exhaust made up.

I havn't looked at the link tbh mate i was just going by what you have written in your post.

I believe that is everything that you would need. I didnt go down the route of changing hubs etc i got mounts from lee mitchell and used my sports shafts and hubs but with different CV's worked out alot cheaper than that kit but it depends which way you want to o about it. buy as a whole or buy bits seperate and possible save a bit of money.

dont bother with conversions kit's..

can be done for a lot cheaper

mount kit : 50-90

then shafts - 2 options.
22 spline gsi shafts and mk2 cav 1600 inners..

or cav/cali/astra shafts or equal lengh's - may have to shorten them 15mm, and machined cav/cali astra hubs..

Is it ok to use gsi/sport shafts? Can they handle the extra power and torque?

Sport shafts have been fine on my xe. P1CK4D that had the engine before me snapped one but i think he was doing full lock burnouts, and they would have been 15 years old
