As above i have a mantzel copy and am putting a new EGR on tomorrow so should i blank it or not?

You have to blank it really, or when it opens it will be puffing exhaust fumes out under the bonnet

Ok i meant the actual EGR valve not the part where the throttle leaves open when you move it to the front of the inlet.
ive had a few probs with the eml light and the egr packing up thats all.

ok then.
there is no need to blank it if you have the correct egr feed from the inlet box to the original throttle position blanking plate.
without this feed its probably best to blank it off as it wont be getting a vaccumn on the egr valve anyway so it can cause the EM light to come on wheile letting the engine coast down.
