Is it possible to lower a vauxhall corsa b 30mm using the standard factory shocks.

Are there any negative effects?

Nope. No problems really. But your damper may be on their way out, so might be worth changing them at a later date.

If you go lover than 40mm then i'd deffo say fit new dampers.

Yea my mate said you can lower a car 30mm without changing the shocks, but i didnt belive him so i was just trying to see if he was right.

He works at Eurocar parts and says he can get 4 30mm drop springs for £50.

So i think ill make an investment soon.

Dont go 60mm on standard shock as they'll probably lasy a year or 2 max.

Im lowered on 40mm gmax springs on standard dampers and handling is better but bouncy along back roads. Turns in better but i have removed my front anti roll bar

the only problem with lowering on standard shocks is that the standard shocks have probably seen better days which is why you get the bouncing

im dow 30mm on eibach springs standard shocks. definatly a better ride as it seems to have got rid of the 'slop' in the suspension, still comfy and 'feels' better to drive

i would go for 40 rather then 30 as you will get the better handling and a new set of standard shocks can't be that much right?

it can be a bit bouncy at times (speed bumps) as the standard dampers aren't as stiff as uprated parts but it is a good ride & handles much better than standard
