Sprayed my alloys in gloss black now and they are all sat in the shed ready to have the clear lacquer applied.

Just want to know if your suposed to wet and dry the top coat of the colour before lacquering? Ive heard contradicion views on this

1500 wet and dry them mate but have wet paper!just to take the shine off them as it will give a key to the paint and help the lacuer take better.

I dont normally rub down the painted surface (plastics) as it looks good and i think it could ruin it. I just normally laquer over it.

i agree it seems a bit strange to rub the painted surface down but its only 1500 grade so only takes the shine off it.the lacuer is what gives it the deep polished gloss finish and ive rubbed down every time and never been disappointed ever. its upto you mate really.
