looks almost as if oil has got in there? how and why? and is it expsnive to fix?

oil in rad head gasket gone more than likely 16v astra head gasket cost a customer at my work 450 all together

what i thought but no loss in coolent or oil

If its only a little and/or you dont drive the car long distances it 'could' just be condensation buildup.

But it does stink of HG failure tbh.

I would recommend a compression test and a sniffer test on the header tank.

well i thougth so but also read about GM dexcool or sumet whihc can cause sludge build up. But still no oil loss or coolent loss and would expect to see mayo under oil cap

It all depends where the breach is and how bad it is.

No probs. They will probably do the two tests above anyway...
