Bit of an essay, but after some help on Iphones / contracts etc....
Currently got 2 contracts with O2 in my name, 1 which I use - Nokia N95 8GB which isn't due an upgrade for 12 months & 1 which the mrs uses - Sony jobby which is due an upgrade now.
Now what I'm wanting to do is upgrade her phone to the iPhone & me take it on using my existing sim with her either using the Sony or my N95.
I've had conflicting info from O2 regarding whether or not I would be able to use my sim in the iPhone & it being fully functional.
Just wondering if anyone on here had done similar.
For info I've got the web bolt on for my contract so not concerned with data charges.
Dont want to be shelling out on the phone & contract if I'm not gonna be able to use it to its 'potential'

Also, would it be possible to register it against my sim, or would it have to go against the sim eligible for upgrade

iPhone doesn't detect contacts etc like a normal phone would.
You can get applications to read off the sim but it did it in a strange format for me and I had to type them all out manually anyway. I'm assuming thats what they mean when they say it won't be fully functional

Not really meaning for just contacts, I mean in general in terms of registering it & then using the other sim

Once registered, does it become locked to the sim in which it was registered?

Nope. You can do what you like with an iPhone. I have all the available features on Vodafone so there are no issues there.
