i have a 30gb claasic video ipod and all it ever shows is what is playing, dont think it has a screen saver, its about 2 1/2 years old so maybe newer models are different
not much help to you though sorry

Set the back light to always on - will kill your battery quicker but will keep the screensaver away!

i have an 80gbp classic and haven't got a screensaver?
if by screensaver, you mean the screen goes black after a certain time then keep the backlight on all the time.
all you have to do anyway is just click a button and it'll light up again.
