My TV is HD ready, but doesnt have HDMI port, I understand you can get HDMI > DVI cables - and my tv does have a DVI port. Do you still get full HD quality from this?

i'm no sure about HDMI 360's but on the older models you can use a seperate lead for sound into either TV or another source. my 360 uses the VGA input for gfx and red and yellow for sound

It's just a cheapo 2.1 surround thing that I bought because I used to use the VGA input for my xbox.
Basically plug the HDMI cable in (via your DVI adaptor) and use the standard AV adapter you get with your xbox (has phono plugs on it, yellow and red I think) to connect to either your telly if it has the additional inputs or to an external surround sound unit!
Pretty easy when you've got it all infront of you
