Are these common? As a few months ago my car wouldn't start but you could hear the starter give an almighty click. You eventually got it to start after a hundred attempts, well i've never had bother ever since until now. I took it to a garage at the auto-electrician couldn't find out whats wrong with it  and now its back and seems to be worse as it only happened a few times last time. Does anyone know the problem? And Can anyone explain why my revs raise quite high despite them being low on a cold start? They nearly double

did you have a new starter motor fitted?

No. The starter is still the starter i bought with the car a year ago. Its a Corsa LS 1.2 16V. Is the idle control valve the problem to both my problems? Or just the over revving? I take it all I need to do is adjust the Idle control valve?

replace it for a new one if i were you, id replace the started aswell if its clicking mate

How much is an idle control valve? I'm getting a new starter as the car will not start at all! SO taking it to the garage this week. Going to mention the overheating revs thing lol
