I dont want anyone to be offended by this or think of it as a way of getting around insurance but i have noticed on alot of redtops that they say that the logbokk still has original info on it e.g 1.2,1.4 how would you get it through the mot just sumthing that has bugged me for a while

You may as well have no insurance Imo if you cant afford to pay the proper insurance etc then you shouldnt have a big engine

As for mot some places will prob still do it but its still dodgy not worth the risk

Don't see how it could pass emissions wise as the 2.0 would be naturally higher than 1.2/1.4 etc or is it more to that?

Generally they meet the standard for that emissions regime, ie. C engine in a C car, Y engine in a Y car, Z engine in a Z car. Problem comes when you start fitting old engines in to new cars, ie. C20XE in a X10XE car.

Having said that, running correctly even an old XE will pass modern at standards if it has a cat.
