Ive got a knocking from the front drivers side which i assume it will be the CV joint right,
just one thing though, how do you tell if it the outer one or inner one. Its knocks occasionally in a straight line and when turning.
Ive never read about anyones innser one going, so it more then likely is the outer one i supose.
corsa c 1.2 by the way

Right people on further investigation, its coming from the passenger side, and the bloody thing is knocking like a gooden now.
It was not knocking when turning that was just a coincidence, it makes a loud knocking noise every time you take ur foot off the pedal and let it roll freely.
I dont think it can be driven anymore as its bloody loud and sound bad.
What you reckon people,
cv joint though some one told me it sounds like the bearing.
please help

If it's when you take your foot off the pedal that sounds like it could be a fucked mount. Open the bonnet and have a look at them, then try to move the engine around in the bay - if there's a lot of play in the engine movement then that could be it.

im really not sure what mine is, this is new to me, last time i knew the cv joint had gone was because it was clicking whilst turning, and my rear bearing went and it wined.
Never come across a loud knocking whilst going in a straight line, so i dont really know what im looking for.
Its definately by the passenger front wheel, so i assume if i jack it up and theres play in it, it will be the cv, otherwise the bearing i supose.??? ive only known bearings to wine though

Isn't the gearbox mount over on the passenger side? Bearing in mind I've not got a clue what engine you're talking about.

Well i fixed the problem, without spedning a penny, which made me happy and i stopped cursing the car.
Jacked up the passenger side to find out that the tyre place obvoiusly hadnt done the wheel nuts up tight enough, all four were loose, wheel must of been near off.
Bloody idiots, first time ive been to that one aswell
thansk for everyones input though

This has happened to me twice, once on my first day of driving aswell! RAC was called and the wheel was being held in by 1 bolt the other 3 were missing!
