Its not the ECU its the inlet manifold if you look at it it goes from your airbox down and accross the back of engine then up to throttle boddy then back across the top of head then down the inlet backwards then back into engine!
Just replace the lot wiv a Mantzel powerbox or Velos torque tube or go mad and get SBD's taper throttle bodies

wont fit your engine. you could get your ECU Chipped but it'd only give about 6-10bhp, the powerbox and t-tube give bout 20bhp and t-bodies give bout 60bhp!

Try www.courtenaysport.co.uk orwww.vmotorsport.fsnet.co.uk or www.sbdev.co.uk
The 16xe lumps are much better and tuneable than 2.0 8v and arguably the 2.0 16v

I dont own any, its what they cost.
Just drop a 2.0 16v in there for a lot less.

No, go for the Throttle bodies, they are expensive but worth it for the power increase.
For a 2.0 16V it will cost about £2k+ for a decent setup with lower power.

Ha, there are plenty of "kick arse" corsas on this board! Your boyfs astra GTE is only 8v, even though very tough, its not as willing to mod like the XE engines. You will notice good gains when buying decent kit, especially when it comes to the induction system. Good luck. BTW, your 1.6 is probably one of the best production engines vauxhall made performance wise, it is a cracker and your boyf will beg for mercy in his lowly 8v!

go for the c20xe - aint that expensive to do - i'd keep away from big companies as they r doin u over left rite and center for labour costs. loadsa local places round here that are vauxhall specialists and will do it for half the price. Of if ur bf is good with cars, get him to drop it in! 2 b honest, aint that hard, just long and fiddly at times (well into a nova it was)

dont bother with 2.0l it make front end heavy and not as agile, powerful light engines are better, power to weight
