I think cams raise the limit a little, don't quote me on that though coz I'm not really sure.

to rase the rev limit you will need arp con rod bolts then the ecu has to be mapped to tell it to rase the rev limmit

sorry for jacking topic
where do you get those arp con rod bolts cheap?
and are they easy to install?`is it just off with the oil pan then screw out the old, and screw in the new with correct torque setting? spin round the engine to reach the last 2, and done?

no you need to countersink the face of the conrod to accept the wider heads, always put me off. Also if you're running a standard manifold you'll have to take the lower half off and the bolts will shear...

Will countersinking not make the rods go out of balance?
I want to do it myself, becouse it would be nice to have the rev limit raised to 8k when im having the car chipped on a rolling road anyway soon
or maybe getting a tuning workshop to do the job would be smarter?
edit: just saw a guide in the tutorials section(;

8k is the max you can rev standard rods fella so i would give them a little le way and rev it to 7.5 max and yeah it will throw the bearing caps out of synce a little but its not noticable.
its not to bad of a job tbh (well it looks pritty simple)
arp bolts can be bought off ebay and suck places just google
ARP con rod bolts for X14XE/X16XE and it should bring up a few places

I wouldnt drive it out to 8k all the time either, it would just be nice to have the opportunity when fx. racing
