size and spacing dont matter mate......But as a rough guide do bout 20 holes using a 10mm drill bit. Dont drill above the bit where the filter fits, and dont drill on the engine side.

Just Drill as many holes in it as possible without makin it structually unstable. i used a 40mm drill bit but only did about ten holes and i have gone bak to it because my lil 1.2 doesnt like the induction kit i offered up

So is drilling an airbox better for performance or noise?

well i think its better for smaller engines cos the repcement cone filters take in too much air or sumfin, prob wrong. but if u get a new panel filter and drill then ur still keeping the box that keeps out the hol air, yet by drilling giving more cold air in and ive heard sum say its better than a cone filter and sounds better

by getting a new induction kit or drilling holes, does it make that much noise difference e.g could you hear them coming from far away?

cos it resets the ecu or sumfin, put a post up asking how to fit on, etc. resetting the ecu is important cos the air/fuel ratio going into the engine ill b different cos of the new filter that brings more cold air in
