To pass your MOT to you have to have a cat or do you just have to pass the emissions test?

Technically you need a cat. No Corsa will pass the emissions test without a cat anyway.

What about these "fast-cats" ive heard about? Will they still pass? Are they much better than standard?

right as long as ur corsa is within EU emmissions it will pass, so u wont fail if u dont have a cat, but u will if u dont cos its the cat that keeps u under the limit

sports cats will pass a emmissions test, and they are better cos they let the gases flow faster through them, hense its less restrictive

Well if you get a roud side test all they will do is make you take it for a proper emissions test, so just go sort it out take it for the test and put it back.

Anyway, MOT states that if a car has a CAT fitted as standard, it MUST have one for the rest of its life, regardless of emissions!

yep, all engines after 1993 must have a CAT, most cars that should have CATS wouldnt pass the emmisions test without a CAT since they are stricter
